Why To Love Your Body As Is!
I Love My Body!
My Body Is Perfect!
I Love Myself!
Today when I woke up I checked my emails and I saw one of Paul Fishman's email.
Now, if you don't know who he is, Paul Fishman is a self love and confidence mentor. He talks about on his email how he had posted a picture of himself at the beach showing off his gorgeous body!
He posted his picture as a powerful message to inspire confidence and accept your own body as is!
Guess what!? Instagram took it down.
Paul said Instagram stated it was violating community guidelines! As a social experiment he then decided to report some pictures he had seen that are more provocative just to see what would happen. He received an answer back from Instagram saying his reports were not valid yet his own post was violating community guidelines!
How does this even make sense?
Paul Fishman expresses "Why is my body being censored? Is it because my body doesn't look like the mainstream expectations of beauty?"
This got me thinking...
That is a good point!
Why are other pictures appropriate to post and show off than others?
What is considered beautiful or hot?
How did this even start as being normal?
Is it used as a way to judge ourselves and others?
Have we all been conditioned to thinking a certain way by social media?
We see all these singers, actors, models, influencers that are skinny, have abs, show off their skin, and have a perfect tan. Is this the only way you are considered hot or beautiful as a women?
Why? It should not be that way.
Everyone has a different body. Everyone has a different personality. Everyone has different skills and talents. Everyone is Unique. You get it!
I can't imagine everyone being the same and looking the same.
Therefore, since everyone is different then our body should be expected and most importantly Accepted as normal, beautiful, hot, and gorgeous!
The more and more I had scrolled down on social media on any platform and I have seen pictures with skinny, busty, perfect tanned, perfect abs bodies It brings me down.
I am sure I am not the only one! Unless you are all of the above. Which is okay but what about the rest of us?
This is why I decided to unfollow/ clean out any Instagram accounts that do not make me feel happy, self love, and motivated. This is one way you can improve what you see and be in control!
What you see/think is what you are!
Lets take our power back!
What I am trying to say with the story from Paul Fishman that inspired me is that we need to love and accept our own body as is!
I'm not sure how or why this biased " your only hot if you look like this" idea came about.
But beautiful is accepting all different shapes and color of body's.
Whether you are curvy, thick, short, tall, light, dark, thin, etc. This is Beautiful! Uniqueness.
Our Body is a a vessel or a shell that holds our soul. We need to love and respect it because it is what allows us to be physical.
Think of this? After you die what happens to your body?
Whether you are religious, spiritual, or none in your believes there are many different perceptions on possibilities what happens to our soul and our body. However, one thing for sure I'm sure all would have in common is our physical body just stays here as is. It is only a shell. Then an individual would think what happens to the soul or if there is even a soul Depending on what you believe.
Fact remains our body is left behind. We only used it physically in this world but it is not really WHO we are!
This is a great reason to focus on everything else than just your physical appearance. Focus on being happy, joyful, and enjoying the present moment. Instead of how you look or how does everyone else see's your body.
Now, I'm not saying it is easy! I know that.
We will need more awareness and practice. We have to start some time and somewhere. I hope the "normal" hot, beautiful, pretty, and accepted body images will one day change to a more healthier and positive perspective.
But for now we can start ourselves, somewhere, one by one! Let's take our own personal power!
